The Conversation
It starts with a phone call. Tell us your idea — even a rough sense of what you're after is enough. We'll listen, ask the right questions, and arrange a time to meet in-store.

In-Store Consultation
Sit with our design team. We'll look at inspiration, discuss metal choices (yellow gold, white gold, rose gold, platinum), stone options, and your budget. Bring anything that inspires you — no pressure, no obligation.

Design & Approval
We produce detailed drawings or computer-aided design renders for you to review. Refine as many times as you need until every detail is right. Production begins only when you're completely happy.

Handcrafted
Your piece is made by hand in our workshop — cast, set, finished, and quality checked by our team. We keep you updated along the way and will call as soon as it's ready.

Collection
Come in to collect your finished piece. We'll present it in a Leon Baker jewellery box, and we're happy to arrange complimentary cleaning and maintenance in the years ahead.

We work with diamonds (white, fancy coloured, and Australian Argyle), sapphires, rubies, emeralds, opals, pearls, and many other precious and semi-precious stones. We can source stones from our own collection or work with yours.
Common Questions
How much does a custom piece cost?
Every piece is different, so pricing depends entirely on the design, metal, and stones chosen. We'll provide a detailed quote after your consultation — before any work begins. There's no obligation to proceed, and no charge for the initial conversation.
How long does a custom piece take?
Most custom pieces take between 4–8 weeks from approved design to collection, depending on complexity and stone availability. For time-sensitive pieces (engagements, anniversaries), let us know early and we'll do our best to accommodate you.
Can I bring in my own gold or stones?
Yes. We regularly work with customer-supplied materials — old gold that can be melted and reused, loose stones from heirloom pieces, diamonds from past jewellery. Bring them in and we'll assess what's possible.
Do I need to know exactly what I want?
Not at all. Many clients come in with only a feeling or a vague direction — a style they like, a colour they're drawn to. Our designers are experienced at translating loose ideas into beautiful pieces. Bring inspiration images if you have them, but don't worry if you don't.
Can I update the design after seeing the renders?
Absolutely. The design phase is collaborative. We'll revise drawings or renders until you're completely happy — nothing moves to production until you've given your final approval.
